Me Gabrielle Thiboutot has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2022. She holds a degree in civil law and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, specializing in international development and globalization, and graduated with honors from the University of Ottawa. Me. Thiboutot always knew she would practice immigration law, and started out in the field with a large firm, followed by a boutique practice. Before joining our team, she practiced mainly in economic immigration law, and her pro bono projects led her to work in humanitarian immigration law.
Since 2023, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of AQAADI (l’Association québécoise des avocats et avocates en droit de l’immigration) and is involved in several of its committees. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of For the Refugees, where she leads the Resilient Futures initiative to empower Afghan women through studies in Canada. Me. Thiboutot also coaches the University of Ottawa’s moot team for the 2025 Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law Moot Court Competition, after her team won the 2024 competition.
Fluently bilingual in French and English and having traveled in South America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, she has been able to observe cultural realities and learn from her experiences. This translates into a humane practice of immigration law, where her desire to find solutions for her clients meets creativity and innovation to navigate the complexities of current laws and regulations.
