Admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1983, Jean François (JF) Bertrand founded his own law firm in 1984 which became Bertrand Deslauriers in 1991. A trial lawyer in immigration litigation, JF has acquired a vast experience of over 30 years in immigration and citizenship litigation. Under his leadership, in response to our clients’ needs, Bertrand Deslauriers opened an office on Bay Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in 1996, and subsequently moved the firm to King Street, Toronto, in the Fashion District in 2000. JF is a member of the Litigation Group, the Business and Technology Group, and a part-time member of the Administration Group. He has a vast experience as trial lawyer in the several courts and tribunals that have jurisdiction in immigration matters in Quebec and Canada: the Federal Court of Canada, the Superior Court of Quebec, the Tribunal Administratif du Québec and various divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. He teaches the law of judicial review in the continuing education classes made mandatory by the Quebec Bar.
