Bertrand, Deslauriers, founded in 1983 by Jean-François (JF) Bertrand, Senior Partner, now BDIA Bertrand, Deslauriers – is a Canadian law firm practicing in Immigration Law, Business and Technology Law in Canada.

It has offices in Montreal since 1984, and in Toronto since 1996. The firm’s original field of interest was strictly litigation (cases that go to court) and solving immigration problems.

In 2015 it purchased two Montreal immigration consultant companies specializing in the processing of immigration applications: Dalma Immigration and MM Investments and Immigration.

Its litigation division does Quebec administrative reviews, applications for judicial review in Superior court for CSQ refusals and rejections for questions of format or fraudulent documents. It does federal tribunals like the 4 divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board: the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD), the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD) for appeals and detentions, the Immigration Division (ID) and the Refuge Protection Division (RPD). It does cases in the Federal Court of Canada, against decisions from Canadian visa officers abroad, the IRB, and inland immigration agents when they deport people, delays unreasonably making a decision on an application (mandamus).

Bruno Deslauriers, LLB, MBA, Senior Partner, has joined the firm to manage the business applications of immigrants (investors and entrepreneurs) and created the Business and Technology Law Group after more than thirty (30) years in private practice and as In-House Legal Counsel in high-tech companies.
